We all want to achieve success and setting goals is the one proven way to help us do that. I have been reading about using short term goals examples and then simply putting those down on paper and sticking to them. I was reading an interesting blog from the makers of Unstuck which is a great ipad app. They talk about being an Avoider. This is different than what you would you normally think about when putting things off. You know what needs to be done and avoiding this delay tactics can help us set and achieve SMART goals and put you in a better place. There are so many tools that are out there and I do use Unstuck on my iPad and would highly recommend this for anyone looking to get that extra boost you need. We also recommend GoalsOnTrack as a great online solution to help plan and track your goals.
- Waiting for perfect. Telling yourself you need the right amount of time, physical space, equipment, you name it—and then waiting for the magic ingredients to appear.
- No strain, no gain. You work best under pressure, right? Not really, but it may be the only way you’re used to getting things done.
- Productive procrastination. Taking care of all those other things you’ve put off in favor of what you need to get done.
- Second guessing. If we continually question a decision, we act like a Waffler and can’t move forward.
